Everi, a leading provider of gaming and FinTech solutions, aims to modernize its white-labeled mobile app enrollment process to enhance user acquisition and engagement for casino gaming properties.

Background

Problem: Friction Points in Onboarding & Registration

  • Casino mobile apps previously required in-person sign-ups, limiting user acquisition.

  • No identity verification solution existed for loyalty program enrollment.

  • Users couldn’t enroll in the loyalty program remotely.

  • Older apps require Player ID and PIN, obtainable only on-site

Business Use Cases

  • Expand user acquisition by enabling remote digital enrollment.

  • Improve login/sign up experience using email and password.

  • Allow for remote identity verification, removing the need for in-person sign-ups for loyalty programs.

  • Allow for existing loyalty members to link existing rewards account to mobile app account

A user interview was conducted to figure out who our personas are. Our findings show that users need either clear guidance and security reassurance or a fast, seamless experience. Remote onboarding will focus on simplicity, trust, and efficiency with step-by-step assistance, and biometric verification.

We began with low-fidelity wireframes, integrating them into the user flow to assess technical feasibility and refine the experience to align with our use cases.

Usability Test: ​​​​​​​Evaluating The Designs

A comprehensive evaluation was conducted to assess usability, intuitiveness, and effectiveness, focusing on navigation, layout, information architecture, and interaction design.

  1. Improved First Screen Clarity:

  • Before:"Do you have an Everi Account?" → After:"Have you used the Everi Mobile App before?"  

  • Why? Reduces confusion by to funnel existing loyalty members vs. new members into the correct flow.

  1. Primer Screen Addition

  • Added: A screen highlighting app benefits (loyalty rewards, offers, self-service).   

  • Impact: Sets expectations, boosts engagement, and improves onboarding completion.  

  1. Progress Indicator:

  • Added: Visual progress tracking in onboarding

  • Impact: Enhances transparency and increases completion rates.

  1. Biometric Privacy Policy

  • Added: Clear policy within onboarding

  • Impact: Builds trust by explaining biometric data use and ensuring compliance
